Nepal

Nepal is located between China and India. The population in Nepal is close to 29.3 million people where Chitwan has 579,984. Chitwan is located in the southwestern part of Nepal close to the India border. Chitwan is known for their deep forests and national parks. It is also the homeland for the Thalu people. The average income per month is $100 USD.

Coalesce International, with the help of trusted locals, has been sponsoring Nepalese children enabling them to attend school (e.g., uniforms books, pens, etc.), plus others that are in need (e.g., regular groceries for a 94 year-old grandmother who was found begging for food, and supplying medical and groceries to an elderly couple).

The villagers of Ramailo Basti Toll send a greeting to Albert Alhatem.

June 1, 2021

We have identified a village (Ramailo Basti Toll) that has little or no food source due to the Corona virus still hitting hard in Nepal. Due to their lockdown and no vaccines yet, life is hard and many people have no jobs or income. They try to survive by growing their own vegetables or by going fishing in the river, but it is rainy season there and the rivers are all muddy.

There are around 20 homes with 4-5 people in each.

For only $30 you can feed a family of 4 for a month by providing them with 30 pounds of rice, oil, salt, 40 pounds of potatoes, onion, and lentils.

Our goal is to feed 20 identified families for 3 months in villages around Chitwan which were hit hard by the coronavirus. They have no jobs and the government does not help them. There is also no vaccines available right now to them.

This is a typical Nepali meal, mostly rice with lentils or potatoes.

May 30, 2021

We were able to send much needed funds for an orphanage to get food for their kids.

With the help of our local Nepali Dip Narayan he was able to go to their village and hand them cash to go buy groceries.

July 28, 2020

We continue to support the families of Chitwan and their neighboring village Laukhani. With the help of our local contacts, we were able to feed 75 more families or over 230 people providing them with basic foods such as rice, dahl, onions, potatos, and oil.

July 4, 2020

Due to the Corona virus lockdowns in Nepal, people cannot work or get food for their families. The government does not offer any assistance to the people. We were able to provide food to feed 75 families (200 people) in May and in June with the help of Hotel Sunbird family who distributed the food thru their place.

The list included:

Rice – 510 kg, Dahl – 37 kg, Oil (43 packets), Salt (18 packets), Onion – 40 kg, and Potato – 50 kg.

Update February 23, 2020

Coalesce supplied a village of poor kids with notebooks for school. Our helpers also bought them candy much to their delight. The kids got together and sang me happy birthday, such a touching tribute. We were also able to send our kids for school for another year.
